The mark consists of a round drawing which looks like a three-dimensional metal medallion. The entire medallion is bronze (with the exception of a drawing and words that are in combinations of black and white), and the entire medallion is marked with fine, parallel striations from its upper right side to its lower left side. Centered in the medallion is a silhouette (in black) of a World War I soldier in profile, facing toward the right side of the medallion, atop a silhouette (in black) of a hill, leaning forward from his hips with his right arm draped over the mussel, and his left hand on the stock, of a rifle (in black silhouette) which is placed in front of him with the butt of the rifle on the ground. The soldier silhouette shows the figure is dressed in military clothes, with a knap sack on his back, and a pith helmet on his head. The soldier is looking down at a cross ( in black), placed at on the top of the hill, with vegetation of some type growing at the base of the cross (in black). Directly above the cross is a small (white) dove in flight, facing toward the right of the medallion, and carrying an olive branch (in black). A horizon line is seen in the distance running through the medallion at its midpoint and showing the sun (in white) just over the horizon. The area above the horizon line is light bronze, and the area below the horizon line is dark bronze, with some shading to suggest water. The outer edge of the medallion is drawn to show a raised ridge, and a second raised ridge, placed a short distance inside the edge ridge, encircles the picture described above. Between the two ridges, words and star symbols encircle the medallion's outer edge. The words are all in capital letters, rendered in black with white shading on the edge of the letters to give the letters a three-dimensional quality. The stars are five pointed, rendered in black with white shading on the star edges to give the stars a three dimensional quality. Reading left to right, beginning just above the horizon line on the left, arching over the medallion picture, and ending just above the horizon line on the right, the stars and words are as follows: [star symbol] "THE GREATEST GENERATIONS FOUNDATION" [star symbol]. Reading from left to right, beginning just below the horizon line on the left, arching under the medallion picture, and ending just below the horizon line on the right, the stars and words are as follows: "WORLD WAR I" [star symbol] "WORLD WAR II" [star symbol] "KOREA" [star symbol] "VIETNAM".
