Description of Design Search

The mark consists of a seal with three concentric rings, the central ring being wider, mirror image sprigs of laurel in the central ring. The top and bottom of the central ring contain the literal elements "STOCKTON" and "UNIVERSITY" respectively. In the upper part of the center space interior the rings are two further sprigs, above a crest in the center space divided into quadrants. The upper left quadrant features a lion; an open book and flame in the upper right quadrant; an evergreen tree is in the lower left quadrant; and a bird is in the lower right quadrant. In the center of the crest is a box with a ribbon over the box lower portion. The ribbon contains the literal element "1969". In the box are two symmetrical symbols each comprising a central vertical line and two symmetrical inclined lines extending upwardly from the central vertical line forming inverted triangles. Below the crest in the interior space is a ribbon containing the literal element "AN ENVIRONMENT FOR EXCELLENCE".
