Description of Design Search

The mark consists of a coat-of-arms comprising an inescutcheon of a "puwalu" or a triangular maritime flag of ancient Hawaiian Chiefs whose compositional elements consist of the sacred kapu "pulo'ulo'u" staff and crossed spears in yellow on a green background, within an escutcheon comprising a quartered shield with red, white and blue strips in two diagonally set quarters namely, the upper left corner and lower right corner, and the sacred "pulo'ulo'u" staff in yellow and white on a yellow background in the other two diagonally set quarters, namely, in the upper right and lower left corners, framed by a fleur de lis scroll ornament in yellow, surmounted by a crown sometimes referred to as the Crown of Hawai'i, in red, yellow and blue, above a board in brown, flanked by royal tenants known as the "royal twins", the High Ali'i Kame'eiamoku and High Ali'i Kamanawa in brown, both wearing feather cloaks of red, yellow and brown, one holding a brown spear and the other holding a brown and yellow feather standard known as a kahili, a red ribbon draped from the board with the words UA MAU KE EA O KA AINA I KA PONO in yellow thereon, below another fleur de lis scroll ornament in yellow, all enclosed within a royal cape that is white with grey shading on the interior folding and red with yellow boarder on the outside, being substantially the Royal Coat of Arms and Seal created and first used by King Kamehameha III, with the words ROYAL HOUSE OF HAWAI'I in black above and the words KA HALE ALI'I O KAMAKAHELEI in black below.
