Description of Design Search

The mark consists of a light gray outer ring with the words "RICHLAND COUNTY" in dark gray curved downward along the top half of the ring and "SOUTH CAROLINA" in dark gray curved upward along the bottom half of the ring. Within the light gray outer ring is an intermediate red ring, within which is a large dark blue circle that encompasses a small light blue circle. Centered in the large dark blue circle, and superimposed on the smaller light blue circle, is the outline of the state of South Carolina in white with an outline in dark gray, with the outline of Richland County highlighted in red and outlined in black in the center of the outline of the state of South Carolina. To the top right of the outline of the state of South Carolina is a depiction of the scales of justice in white and outlined in black. To the bottom left of, and slightly superimposed on the outline of the state of South Carolina, is a depiction of the South Carolina state house in white with black and gray columns and windows and a brown dome at the top with a white flagpole and a dark blue flag. The state house sits on a green lawn. Centered underneath the outline of the state of South Carolina in the dark blue circle is the year "1799" in white.
