The mark consists of a shield with the words "PET & I" in the center of the shield. Above the aforementioned words "PET & I" is the drawing of the interlocking profiles of a dog facing left on the left side of the drawing and a cat facing right on the right side of the drawing. Above the aforementioned interlocking profiles of a dog and cat are five (5) stars which are centered at the top of the shield, with the third and center star being largest in size, the second and fourth stars smaller than the third and center star, and the first and fifth stars being the smallest in size. Beneath the words "PET & I" is a ribbon horizontally wrapped around the shield with the words "Your Pet Deserves Better-Pet & I" centered inside the ribbon. Beneath the ribbon is a portion of a wavy United States flag. Beneath the ribbon are the words "The US state of Maryland" centered in the bottom of the shield. The mark is in color. The border of the entire shield is trimmed with the color black (being the outermost trim color), the color white (being the second trim color), and the color red (being the third and innermost trim color). The background of the entire shield is colored navy blue. The five (5) stars at the top of the shield are colored red. The interlocking profiles of the dog and cat above the words "PET & I" are colored white. The words "PET & I" is colored white with navy blue trim nearest to the white colored letters and an outer trim colored red. The ribbon beneath the words "PET & I" is colored red with a white horizontal trim inside the top of the ribbon and another white horizontal trim inside the bottom of the ribbon. The words "Your Pet Deserves Better-Pet & I" inside the ribbon is colored navy blue with a white colored trim. The left portion of the wavy United States flag beneath the ribbon is colored a lighter blue than the background color of navy blue with white stars and the right portion of the wavy United States flag has horizontal stripes alternating in colors of red and white. The words "The US state of Maryland" on the bottom center of the shield is colored navy blue with white trim.
