The mark consists of a three-dimensional bottle design with a label having the words "MOUNT GAY RUM" in gold, the word "BARBADOS" in red, a red star, and the words "SINCE 1703" in white, all superimposed on an outline map of Barbados in white, with the words "EXTRA OLD" in gold below; all on a square field of black, surrounded by a gold frame; below the black label are the words "PERFECTED BY TRADITION" embossed on the bottle, and above the label are the embossed words "SINCE 1703" with a crest design there between having "MG" and a red ribbon running vertically up the neck of the bottle over the black cap with vertical lettering in white "SINCE 1703".
