Description of Design Search

The mark consists of a fanciful design on a box for playing cards. The obverse face of the box features a scrollwork border that is punctuated by (starting at top and proceeding clockwise) a heart, a spade, a diamond, and a club. A central seal contains an overlapping letter "H" and letter "V" with the letter "H"'s crossbar extended laterally and the letter "V" being taller, such that all strokes are chords of a same circle. Around the "HV" design is a scalloped circle, and around that is a set of Roman numerals, "I"-"XII" arranged as on a clock face. Immediately above the central seal are a floral design and the words "CERCA TROVA", and immediately below are "NYC USA" and a circular design. To the right of the central seal is a first circular seal with laurels and a floral design, and to the left is a second circular seal with a crown design. The words "HIGH VICTORIAN" and "PLAYING CARDS" are in a pair of curved banners above the seals, and "PRODUCED BY THEORY 11" and "FINELY CRAFTED FOR THE INQUISITIVE MIND" are in a pair of curved banners below the seals. The reverse face of the box has two large, concentric spirographic designs, with the words "HIGH VICTORIAN" above and "MMXVII" below. Flanking the central design are a woman holding a wreath and a woman holding a downward facing sword on the left and right respectively. Above the women are urns and beside them are more scrollwork designs. At the upper left and lower right of the reverse side are the "HV" insignia; at the upper right and lower left are a floral design; at the upper center is a clock face flanked by a heart, club, spade, and diamond; and at the bottom center is a seal flanked by the words "CERCA" and "TROVA". The side faces of the box display, from top to bottom, the "HV" insignia, a heart, club, spade, and diamond, and the words "HIGH VICTORIAN". An upper face of the box contains the words "HIGH VICTORIAN" as well. A flap of the upper face made to rest under the reverse face displays the scrollwork border, the "HV" insignia, and "20" and "17" on either side of the "HV". The dotted outline of the box shows the relative position of the mark for which registration is sought on the packaging of the goods, and is not a part of the mark.
