The mark, which is a depiction of a firefighter's shield, consists of a circle in the center surrounded by four projections attached to it, equi-distant from one another, one on each side of the circle, one at the top and one at the bottom. A satellite dish is depicted in the middle of the circle, a fire hydrant appears in the left wing-like projection of the shield and a hook and ladder in the right wing-like projection. The letters "FETN" in large block caps appear in the top projection and the words "DISTANCE LEARNING" in smaller size block style caps appear in the bottom projection attached to the shield.
