Service offered by Raj Abhyanker, Partner

Raj Abhyanker

I am a U.S. patent attorney in Palo Alto, California. I specialize in helping startups and multinational companies protect inventions in the Internet, software, electrical, mechanical, and medical device arts. I am a founding Partner of the law firm of LegalForce RAPC Worldwide.

I enjoy being a patent attorney because it gives me the opportunity to work with entrepreneurial and creative people. I take pride in my work, and enjoy helping my clients build and grow their companies. I care deeply about the success of my clients and I take a personal interest in companies that I represent. I offer them direct access to my phone and a timely response within one business day or less. For this reason, I have dozens of inventors and clients who can serve as references for my legal aptitude and counsel.

I have written patent applications for a number of leading companies including Apple, Hewlett Packard, eBay, Intel, NVIDIA, VMWare, NetApp, SAP, and Adobe. In addition, I have built numerous U.S. and international patent portfolios of growing businesses including Gracenote (sold to Sony Music), Aster Data Systems (sold to TeraData), and Silver Springs Networks. Today, my clients include multinational companies, venture backed companies, and creative individuals.

Prior to starting my own law firm, I was a patent attorney at large patent law firms in the United States, including Blakely Sokoloff Taylor & Zafman and at Schwegman Lundberg. Before that, I was an electrical and software engineer at Juniper Networks, Hewlett Packard, and at Lockheed Martin for more than 5 years. I bring my deep knowledge of engineering and business to help my clients protect and enforce their most prized inventions. Like many of my clients, I am an engineer and entrepreneur myself. This helps me uniquely understand and relate to clients and their perspectives in helping them grow their businesses. I am a co-founder and CEO of the website LegalForce Trademarkia (attracting more than 1.5 million unique visitors every month), and the website the DealMap (formerly Fatdoor, now Google Offers), which was sold to Google, Inc. in 2011. Because of the sale to Google, Inc., I am the lead inventor of valuable issued patents owned by Google including issued U.S. Patent Nos. 8,204,776; 8,064,590; 8,190,357; 8,095,430; and 7,966,567. I have superior English analytical writing skills, having obtained a 99% rank on the GMAT analytical writing section. My writing skills earned me a full tuition with a living stipend scholarship from the Pepsi Cola Company for graduate school.

I am a licensed attorney in the state of California, and am licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office as a patent attorney. If you have any questions about how I might be of assistance to you in protecting your intellectual property, please email me at: raj@legalforcelaw.com.
