i have an idea i want to protect. i know i cant copyrightit becasue its a phrase. For lack of a better way to explain...it is much along the lines of the "What would Jesus" Do campaign. I wonder if the slogan " W.W.J.D." or something like it can be protected as a trademark? any ideas how i can pretect my

I have a concept for a marketing campaign that includes modifying 20-30 different slogans by different companies.  I want to use these modified slogans to promote the launch of a new business.  The modified slogans would be used in print and oral communication.

Is this prohibited?

I was thinking "Providence's #1 Source for Car Sales"

Would this slogan be considered legal ??  It says #1 source... even though I'd sell about 5 cars a month... others can sell maybe around 20

I have thought of a great phrase that will be used by the company I am working for.  I would like the credit for it yet do not know how to go about it.  Any and all suggestions welsome.

I'm a graphic designer and my client would like to trademark a slogan. She wants the entire slogan to be protected. However, it seems that the slogan has two parts to it - a catch phrase and a tagline. Would she have to trademark both the catch phrase and the tagline seperately? For example:

TWO WORD CATCH PHRASE HERE (TM at the end)
Short tagline sentence beneath catch phrase (TM at the end)

or is it sufficient just to put the trademark at the end of tagline? Example:
