Use of European CE logo, as Company Trade mark

In International Trademarks    -  updated on 11/11/2009
I want to use the European CE logo as the trade mark of my company.
My business name is something like "Cats & Elephants" thats why i want to use it, as these are the first initials of the company name.
I have no intentions of exporting my products out of country.

If i am not allowed , can i use the logo by having some slight changes in it, for example drawing a round border around the CE Logo or anything like that ?

Any help is appreciated.

My friend came up with a logo which is a character not a name, and came up with a company name. example like Nike and there swoosh, both present at the same time. This is for a possible T-shirt company. Before he starts business he wanted to wear and get a feel for some of the shirts he might produce before selling them and getting a business license. Whats the minimal he would have to do? copyright? Patent? or Trademark? or all the above. From what I have read on the net it depends on if the...

Thank you for reading my post. My question has a few aspects to it..

I am thinking of starting a small company in Texas. When typing this name into google, the thing that comes up is mycompanyname.ca (the canadian domain). mycompanyname.com is available for sale by some domain squatters, and mycompany-name.com is available.

Could I run into any problems here? I don't plan on ever doing any business in Canada.

Secondly, I ran my name through TESS or the o...

In Can I Trademark it?    -  updated on 11/11/2009
My company has recently been served a summons to appear in court regarding a trademark infringement case.  The other company has the legal rights to the mark we have been using, and we have been in licensing talks to continue to use their trademark.  There are a couple of questions, and I have already consulted a few lawyers about them but the more opinions the better.  I will use the word "Soup" to represent the mark.  The trademark is being use to describe a go...

I, Ms Jennifer Doe, am creating a new product and I've come up with a mark

"GreenEYEZ" for a watchband.

~~~
I get a business license for the company name "Luvjoy" and I create packaging.
The packaging says...
Luvjoy presents...
GreenEYEZ watchband
Luvjoy has created this most striking design to compliment any watchface.
For the protection of my company and the company trying to drive us into the ground, I'll be disguising all names within this post.
My business partner and I own a company called Digging Out Grime LLC. For the past two years, this company has produced, managed and executed an annual event in the sanitation industry known as "DOG Cleaning Expo"
The D-O-G in that name stands for "Digging Out Grime" (obviously) but notice we don't use it in sta...
This is probably a really simple question, so please excuse my ignorance.  Here's the hypothetical:
A party starts a consulting business that specializes in teaching people how to use a trademarked web 2.0 software package (say "YouTube" for the purposes of this hypothetical) to market their online businesses.  They name their business "Easy YouTube" and register the domain name "EasyYouTube.com" from which they conduct all of their onli...
Cease and desist the sale of company X equipment
In Trademark Disputes    -  updated on 11/11/2009
Company X states: "You are hereby notified to cease and desist the sale of company X equipment and any use of company X trademarks or brands."
This was company x response to me. Of course if I think they have no rights then I continue my sales and ads as is.
Does this mean that no matter what in any case I can not use their name any longer even as a descriptive title or info about products that I do have a legal right to resell using company x name?
Ok, I don't know if you all remembered me. But, I asked the question before about using Talida as my company name. But, I abandoned that idea. Now, I chose a different name that would better describe my business. I live in Trinidad and Tobago and, that name is clear to use. And, the domain is also available. But, a problem that keeps nagging me, is that 2 companies in the United States use the names as their company names also (not trademarked though) Both of them are in that "IT&qu...
Forgive my ignorance on verbiage, but I am still learning about this trademark stuff.
I have a company that I have trademark on the company name as well as on a the company acronym.   When we did all the name searches, nothing ever came up and I assumed that I was the only user.  Recently though, a website from a company in Florida just came online with the same name as my company.  From what I understand of trademarks, it is from first date of use, not date of ...
Ok, I am in an interesting situation. I am a graduate from UCSC with a degree in film and I have wanted to trademark a name for my upcoming production company. I checked and the name has not been trademarked within the national trademark and copyright database. This is based off doing a search within their system.
So, here is the problem. Recently from you tube I noticed a few others, amateur films, are using the same production name. an example "renegade productions" (thats ...
Today I received a C+D letter from a company who claims I am infrigting on their trademark. ?My company sells similar web services as they do. ?I registered my company in 2005, the patent they provided shows they registered the service mark in 2003.
They are claiming that the use of my company name is confusingly similar to theirs.
Our company's name is similar but not identical to theirs. ?For example, I will make up an example below...
I have a question about naming a company.
In my search for a quality name for my company I have been looking in books related to my field, word phrases and the thesaurus of course.
I came accross a very interesting chapter in a book and it made perfect sense to name my company the same title as this chapter.
Does anyone know if it is legal to use the chapter in this book to use as my company name?  Are chapters in book put under copyright if the words are comm...
I'm trying to start an independent boardgame company, and the legal issue that I'm most concerned about at this time is choosing a company name. ?I understand that what is important is whether the name is likely to result in confusion for the average consumer, even if it is not an exact match to an existing name.
With that said, it seems that I have two options. ?One is to choose a made up word, which has absolutely no hits in Google. ?What I'm not clear on, though, is how I go about d...
Please forgive me if this is not the right location to post these questions but here goes.
When any commercial company starts up, is it mandatory that the company register their legal name?
If so, whom does the company register their name to?
Also when a company registers their name for legal records, is it their full legal name or publicly traded name that is required in the submission?
Finally does all this apply to all commercial entities like banks?
I am the lawful registered owner of  2 trademarks with the USPTO.
A company is using my exact same marks, in the same classifications, despite being sent a letter to cease and desist.
The infringing company had tried to register the marks but were refused by the USPTO based on my prior registration. I am activlely using the marks and have been for several years.
What is my next recourse? Can I get an injunction against these guys to prevent them from using the mark?...
Does CadTree infringe on company CadKey? The first word denotes the generic industry specialization.  Phonetically they are similar because they share the first word and rythme the second.  Both sell similar products (may directly compete. Mostly web based)
Other example:
OpticsKey/OpticsTree
PhotonicsKey/PhotonicsTree
thanks.
