The mark consists of the term "MILESPERHR" underneath an arching line that traces the shape of a vehicle's tachometer over the "MILESPE" and the tachometer line transitions from a solid, narrower line to a wider, broken line. There are four breaks in the tachometer line, ending just above the "PE" and just above the letter "L" is the base of a needle which points at the transition of the tachometer line from a solid line to a broken line.
