Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost of online trademark registration?
The cost of online trademark registration can range from $275 to $325, depending on the form you choose to use. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) offers two forms: the Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) Plus form and the basic TEAS form. The TEAS Plus form has a lower filing fee but comes with more requirements than the basic TEAS form. It's important to note that there is a separate fee for each product or service you register. The application process typically takes about six months, and the filing fee is non-refundable, even if your application isn't approved. If your application is accepted, you'll receive a notice of publication with the publication date. If there's no opposition and the trademark fits all guidelines and isn't already being used by another entity, the USPTO will issue a registration certificate in about 11 weeks. If you're registering with the intent to use, you'll receive a notice of allowance and you'll have six months to start using the mark in commerce. If you can't meet this deadline, you can request a six-month extension.
