Can a company take another entity's copyright slogan and TRADEMARK it?

I am a cartoonist who puts his toons on products at print-on-demand sites such as Zazzle.
One of the designs I did in 2009 featured an original cartoon of a heart pumping iron with a dumbell and a slogan, "Get Fit - Stay Fit!" (https://www.zazzle.com/motivational_heart_fitness_cartoon_gym_poster-228667178814789182) I added a copyright symbol and my name as part of the design.
Today, I found that a company in Canada (http://cordarofit.com/) is using the same phrase together with their company ...
