(1) - Software, firmware and electronic circuitry that performs the following functions: firewall processing, data decompression.
(2) - Software, firmware and electronic circuitry that performs the following functions: XML Extensible Markup Language content processing, namely, specialized processing centered around the management and handling of formatted messages; SSL Secure Sockets Layer processing, namely; the defacto standard way to secure communications between two computers; RSA public key processing, namely, a standard methodology for assigning a cryptographic key for secure communications; content encryption/decryption processing; random number and pseudo-random number generation; anti-virus processing; intrusion detection processing; layer 4/7 content processing as defined in the International Standards Organizations OSI stack, which is an industry standard for defining how communications are performed, the OSI stack includes seven layers of standards, from Layer 1 (physical/electrical) to Layer 7 (application), Layer 4/7 (which are the Transport Level and Application Level of the OSI stack) content processing specifies that processing is performed on communications at layers 4 and 7; data encoding; data decoding; data decompression; text parsing processing; and data pattern matching processing through application specific circuitry, including the development of boards, agents, and silicon implementations of the agents.
