(1) - Advancement of the economic, social and general welfare of all members of the NSNU, which includes but is not limited to: the negotiation and arbitration of collective agreements in effect for all locals of NSNU; representation of any and all union members through the grievance procedure arising out of their respective collective agreement; participation and representation on all joint committees with management (employee benefits, union management, occupational health & safety, etc); advancement of union member's interests through public action, such as representations to government, advertisements in newspapers, political action campaigns aimed at the public to positively influence their perception of nurses in the provision of health care in Nova Scotia.
(2) - Monthly publications, namely newsletters, brochures, magazines.
(3) - Publicity items, namely mugs, key rings, pins, shirts.
