(1) - Charitable and health related services to support, assist and serve alcoholics, chemically dependent persons and their families, friends and associates by: disseminating information concerning alcoholism and chemical dependency, and the effects thereof, to community members, clergy and treatment professionals; promoting and encouraging knowledge and understanding about alcoholism and chemical dependency by providing speakers to conduct educational sessions, publishing a periodical newsletter, producing audio and video tapes, maintaining a website on the worldwide web, providing information about alcoholism and chemical dependency by referring persons to published articles and audio-visual materials about this subject and conducting and disseminating research about the nature, effects and extent of alcoholism and chemical dependency; conducting retreats, support programs and meetings concerned with alcoholism and chemical dependency; organizing, promoting and operating community outreach programs, seminars and information sessions to educate and sensitize clergy, spiritual leaders, health professionals and community members about the disease of alcoholism and chemical dependency; developing and providing treatment protocols for alcoholism and chemical dependency; developing curriculum materials concerning alcoholism and chemical dependency for use in schools, religious institutions and treatment facilities relating to alcoholism and chemical dependency; collaborating with community organizations to develop prevention and intervention programs for alcoholics and chemically dependent persons; to act as a resource center and information clearinghouse on the effects of alcoholism and drug dependency on family life; to provide scholarships to alcoholics and addicts who cannot afford to attend Retreats and other programs, relating to alcoholism and addiction and particularly relating to the effects of alcoholism and addiction within the community; and to provide scholarships to members of the clergy and those working within social service agencies to encourage them to attend Retreats and other programs, relating to alcoholism and addiction and particularly relating to the effects of alcoholism and addiction within the Jewish community.
