(11) - Operation of a federation for the benefit and service of British Columbia teachers; promotional services, namely, promoting education, the teaching profession, and the welfare of teachers on behalf of primary and secondary teachers in British Columbia through publishing and distributing publications, bulletins and information materials internally to its members, conducting ongoing media relations, publishing news releases, creating and distributing opinions and letters to the media, holding news conferences, publishing and distributing pamphlets and handouts, communications with outside groups, agencies and organizations, conducting and distributing materials for conferences, meetings, receptions and provincial and community events, arranging and conducting public relations campaigns through radio, print, television and billboard advertising; creating and recognizing locals of the Applicant; affiliating and conferring with other similar organizations (Canadian Teachers' Federation); member services, namely, safeguarding teachers' pensions, organizing and administering sick leave benefits and benevolent funds for members
