(1) - Advocating local and municipal government interests of the members of the Association to other levels of government by meeting with and lobbying government officials and their administrative staff for the purpose of achieving identified government policy objectives and by conducting media campaigns (print, television and radio mediums) to communicate to government officials and their administrative staff government policy objectives identified by members of the Association; advancing, promoting and lobbying for government policy positions for local and municipal governments who are members of the Association by meeting with and lobbying government officials and their administrative staff to achieve identified government policy objectives and by conducting media campaigns (print, television and radio mediums) to communicate to government officials and their administrative staff government policy objectives identified by members of the Association; preparation and dissemination of policy positions on topics relevant to local and municipal governments; the provision of legislative review services to local and municipal governments, namely the review and assessment of government legislation, policies and programs relevant to the operation of local and municipal governments; representation of local and municipal government interests before judicial and administrative tribunals; provision of educational services for the professional development of elected officials, namely the provision of seminars and the preparation of written materials; provision of programs to educate the public with regard to the interests of local and municipal governments, development and implementation of shared services for members.
