Description of Design Search

The mark consists of an arrowhead design consisting of a blue field, surrounded by a white band, bordered by a thin black line. Within the white band surrounding the arrowhead are the words "THIRD RECRUIT TRAINING BATTALION PARRIS MCRD ISLAND" in black and five black dots, with one dot at each of the five points of the white band. Within the field of blue is a white number "3". Beneath the "3" are two crossed swords, in white bordered in black, the left sword with a yellow and black hilt, with a black thin-line cross on the hilt, and two yellow dots bordered in grey, and the right sword with a yellow handle with grey lines. The right sword also has a thin grey line extending down the sword. Hanging from a thin grey outlined circle on the top of the left sword is a black cord, bordered in white. Behind the crossed swords is a red banner, bordered in black, and with white backing, with the words "SPIRIT" and "DISCIPLINE" in black. At the bottom of the field of blue is a green drill instructor's hat, with an eagle perched atop a globe and an anchor and anchor line behind the globe, in faded shades of grey and black. The outer portions of the indentations near the upper part of the hat also have faded shades of grey and black. The green hat has a black and brown strap at its base, with a yellow and black buckle.
