Purchased and received title on May 15, 2013. Registered it on May 16th. Took it for a drive on May 17th and ended up walking home. Began backfiring and killing and wont restart. Contacted Menards and it is not there problem. Need to take it to a service center and deal with the manufacturer. May be a good vehicle. I do not know. Menards not being able to provide any assistance under these circumstances is ridiculous.

Part work horse, part mountain goat, this thing is a real beast. I bought it to clean out our woods, haul out fire wood and have some fun at the same time. Our property is like most Ozark property. There isn’t a flat spot anywhere, so I went with the YS700XLT. That said, for my use, this thing is way overkill. Some places where I thought I needed 4-wheel lockup because one wheel was well off the ground while turning unto steep up-hills, it turns out 2-wheel drive is enough! There are very few places where I actually need 4-wheel drive but I use it most of the time anyway because of loose leaves, rocks, small ditches and logs. There are some places where the full capabilities of this unit would be required but I lack the courage, maybe. Steep downhill engine braking on various surfaces works so well only slight braking is required. Okay, this thing has a split personality. The seats fit well and are comfortable, the steering wheel is solid and secure, the grab handles are all in the right place for entry and exit and the instrumentation is impressive for this kind of vehicle. The headlights work very well and the dash is well lit. However, the large seemingly unstoppable single cylinder engine is quite brutish creating a lot of commotion inside the cab. I think you would have to be in thick mud or deep sand to actually need more than half throttle. At speed on smooth roads engine noise and gear whine are quite obnoxious and handling is about what one would expect from aggressive tires carrying only 10 psi. Yet, stop, put it in neutral, set the properly located parking brake and it idles like a kitten. It’s quiet enough on the outside that neighbors don’t seem to notice when it goes by. Okay, I had some minor problems with mine. First, the driver’s side seat belt would not fasten. I had to grind off some excess metal on one edge of the insert plate to get it to fasten. Next, the crankcase vent hose was missing the lower hose clamp allowing the hose to come off and blow some oil around the engine compartment and leak on the garage floor. It was a minor fix because a small amount of oil was lost, but could have been serious had it not been caught in time. Last, the lock nuts on the throttle and parking brake adjusters were loose causing both to need adjusting and tightening. These problems were minor for me but could be serious for someone less mechanical. This thing is not fragile. I hauled it to a local trail park with my daughter and granddaughter and we spent the day riding through deep mud, over loose rocks, through water and up and down all the hills the ATVs were using. When we got home, it took 2 garden hoses 2 hours to get all the mud off. We can’t wait to go again.
