Heather Sapp is an attorney based in Alexandria, VA. She is in charge of developing and managing attorneytraining and communicationsfor LegalForce RAPC Worldwide.Prior to joining LegalForce, Heather was a Trademark Examining Attorneyfor more than a decade with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). During her tenure with the USPTO, she reviewed more than 12,000 trademark applications. Heather also worked as a Legal Fellow for the US House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Courts, the Internet, and Intellectual Property, and as a Law Clerk for the Office of General Counsel for the United States Copyright Office.Heather brings to the team extensive knowledge, having worked in intellectual property issues for domestic and foreign clients with several IP firms. She is also experienced in legal research on trademark infringement for use in the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB) litigation, copyright issues, domain name infringement, and publishing law.Heather received her JD from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University with a Certificate in Law, Science & Technology (IP Specialization). While at ASU, she was the Senior Editor of Jurimetrics, the American Bar Association’s law, science, and technology journal, and was honored by the American Women Lawyers Association as the Outstanding Graduate at ASU.She received her Masters of Law (LLM) in Intellectual Property with High Honors from The George Washington University Law School. While at GW, she published three articles in various law journals. Her paper comparing the anti-circumvention provisions of digital copyright law in the US, Mexico, and Canada was selected as the top student essay by the North American Consortium on Legal Education, and she had the opportunity to present this paper at a conference at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.She graduated from Duke University of a BA in Political Science (International Relations) and French & European Studies, and spent a semester at the University of Paris.Heather has been admitted to the Arizona State Bar since 2005.She is a linguist (French, Spanish and Italian), public speaker, thought leader, and published author.
