The mark consists of a stylized police shield with the words "Special Police Organization," above a circle with the words "CITY OF NEWARK" and "INCORPORATED 1836" around its inner perimeter with three dots on either side. In the center of the circle are two stylized women, one is sitting and holding a scale of Justice and the other is standing and holding a staff with a cornucopia on the top of it and a single olive branch in her left arm and she's leaning on a bundle of steel rods on her left side. To the left is another cornucopia. In between the two women are three plows. On top of the plows is a pipe with an arm holding an antique hammer. Under the circle are the words "INTERGRITY", "SERVICE" AND "HONOR" inside quadrilaterals, with an olive branch on each side above the words.
