The mark consists of a circular Texas Ranger Captain badge containing a five-point star containing the word "CAPTAIN" within two concentric circles that bear the words "DEPT. OF PUBLIC SAFETY" and "TEXAS RANGERS" with plants along the sides. Beneath the badge are two concentric circles bearing six five-point stars. Within and upon the concentric circles, and below the badge, is an outline of the state of Texas upon which the words "200 YEARS" appears with "1823" and "2023" appearing to the right and left of "YEARS" respectively.
