Trademark advice ? what regions to register
Posted by Anonymous . updated on 11/11/2009
I think I may not have explained myself correctly in my original post, so here is a clearer version:
Once you register a logo/character as a trademark, does it open you to unscrupulous people, who look through online TM databases and try and register these logos/characters in their countries, as a way to block you? If so, what would be a correct approach to TM something for a global audience and avoid this problem?
Thanks
Guy

Check this: http://www.wipo.int/madrid/en/Also, remember that a trademark has to be used, not just filed and held as a placeholder. (Except intent-to-use applications, which still must ultimately be converted.)
